As soon as September dawned, someone, somewhere, somehow pushed the button marked “autumn” and the weather went even further to pot than it had managed to travel hitherto this summer…
The only saving grace is that the fancies of young and old men and women now turn to thoughts of answering (or not) daft questions on a Tuesday night, because, God knows, there is nothing on the telly.
Macclesfield Quiz League returns for what I reckon is the 29th or 30th season (I really must find out) and as per our decision at Finals Night, we will make an earlier start this year. The first business is, as ever, the AGM, where we will play the Plate Final to boot.
The date for the AGM will be Tuesday the 22nd of September at the Weaver, Thornton Square, Macclesfield.
This year the Plate Final is between the Castle and the George & Dragon. Questions are in hand. Watch this space for an update…
We will try to play the first game of the new season on Tuesday the 6th of October 2009, by hook or by crook.
